    • Building a Community of Data Champions
A Data Champion is anyone who collects, consolidates, and/or consumes data to improve outcomes on the emerging and longstanding education, health and social problems experienced by our most vulnerable populations.  Data offers another way to see the systems we work in, create new knowledge, and use that knowledge to serve our communities better.  Here is an opportunity to continue conversations that began at a community forum (10/11/2017) and share the knowledge, tools and supports necessary for a sustainable data ecosystem that connects data sources and data users across the sector in Ottawa. La discussion dans ce forum est également encouragée en anglais et en français.

    • Child Care
This forum is dedicated to the discussion of issues affecting the planning and delivery of child care services in Ottawa, particularly as it relates to the Child Care Registry and Waitlist data which represents child care needs in neighbourhoods.  Explore the number of children on the waitlist who are approved for fee subsidy, francophone, identified as aboriginal, identified with special needs, infant children, toddlers, preschool children, and school age children and then examine any neighbourhood's capacity for each of these indicators. La discussion dans ce forum est également encouragée en anglais et en français.

    • Neighbourhood Discussion
ONS is all about neighbourhoods. Although our knowledge of Ottawa's neighbourhoods is based on research we are aware that those who live, work and play in these neighbourhoods are in the best position to further contribute to this knowledge. This forum is the place for users of this site to share history, anecdotes, and personal experiences that will help us to better understand our city and what it means to live in healthy communities. Comment, ask questions, recommend responses to the challenges faced by your neighbourhood. La discussion dans ce forum est également encouragée en anglais et en français.

    • Research
Contextual research is increasingly relevant in population health as evidence mounts that the neighbourhoods and communities in which we live, work and raise our families have important impacts on our physical, mental, and social health. Although ONS is not the only place-based community health research project, the ONS database is considered to be probably the largest of its kind in Canada. If you have comments, feedback, questions or wish to open a discussion about the methodology, choice of indicators, descriptions of neighbourhoods, analyses, findings, or knowledge transfer tools, this forum is the place for you.  If you have news and information about other relevant research into the social determinants of health, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), social indices, epidemiology, GIS/geomatics, etc., please share here. La discussion dans ce forum est également encouragée en anglais et en français.
