United Way shows the way … to data

January 17, 2017

United Way Centraide Ottawa has provided the Ottawa Neighbourhood Study with additional funding to renew our membership in the Ottawa and Region Data Consortium. This will enable us to access data sets curated by the Canadian Council on Social Development under their Community Data Program.

The local Data Consortium is an invaluable service that is hosted by the Social Planning Council of Ottawa. This is an exciting initiative that enables community based organisations and local planners to access data from Statistics Canada and other institutions to identify and better understand the social and economic trends within their individual communities. The Community Data Consortium reduces the cost of acquiring community data, builds community data analysis capacity and connects a national network of data users. ONS is pleased to be a member of the Consortium and to contribute to its continued success and viability as an important community resource. We encourage users of ONS data to find out more about membership in the Consortium and ways that you too can contribute.

ONS thanks United Way Centraide Ottawa for their financial support and for showing the way … to data.
